Family - crisis intervention

Since September 2023, the Carrefour en santé mentale pour les familles et l’entourage (CSMFE) and the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de la Montérégie-Est have joined forces to support families and loved ones of individuals experiencing mental health issues in crisis situations. This innovative project, in collaboration with emergency services in the Montérégie-Est region, aims to intervene at the right moment with caregivers to prevent them from being left without resources, exhausted, or in a crisis themselves. Our partners include the Accès crisis center, police, the Pierre Boucher hospital's care and emergency units, community organizations, and more. These proximity interventions can take place at home or wherever the crisis is occurring.

The family crisis intervention project fosters an open dialogue between those experiencing a crisis, their families and loved ones, and the professionals involved.
