Better responding to the needs of families

Collaboration between CSMFE and L'Entre-Deux

This collaborative project is led by CSMFE and L'Entre-Deux, an alternative mental health resource whose mission is to help women experiencing depression and women living with a personality disorder who need therapeutic support. The project aims to pool and share the complementary expertise and resources of our organizations to better respond to the needs of families and loved ones of individuals living with borderline personality disorder.

The project objectives are as follows:

  1. Develop and experiment with a coordinated and inclusive approach based on mutual support, bringing together families, loved ones, professionals, and individuals experiencing borderline personality disorder (BPD).

  2. Establish a support group to raise awareness, inform, and support the families and loved ones of individuals living with BPD.

  3. Facilitate dialogue between families and their loved ones living with BPD.

  4. Guide loved ones towards services better suited to the needs of individuals living with BPD, to avoid the revolving door syndrome.

  5. Promote knowledge transfer by documenting the experience with a university research team.

Through this collaboration, CSMFE and L'Entre-Deux aim to bring together both parties to foster dialogue, make interventions more effective, and ensure that the tools created in this project are used by all parties involved (families, individuals with BPD, professionals, employers, and police officers).
